T-junction
A red triangle with a 'T' warns that the road you're on ends ahead at a T-junction, where you'll have to give way and turn left or right.

What it means
Your road meets a bigger road ahead. You'll reach a give-way (or stop) line and must turn. The stem of the 'T' is your road; the top bar is the road you'll join.

Where you'll see it
Where a minor road meets a major one, often after a stretch with no other junctions, so it can catch you out.

Plan early: mirror, signal and position for your turn in good time, get your speed right, and give way properly to traffic on the main road.

What's the difference between a T-junction and a crossroads sign?
The T-junction sign shows your road ending at a bigger road (a 'T'); the crossroads sign shows roads crossing (a '+'). At a T-junction you must turn.
