By default this website sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We use cookieless analytics (Umami, always on), while Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity do not load unless you accept our cookie banner. Google Maps does not load unless you choose to load a particular map. There are also strictly-necessary security cookies from our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, described below.
Cookies are small files a website can store on your device; some analytics tools also use similar storage on your device. Under UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations and the UK GDPR), a site needs your consent for anything that is not strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for - which is why our optional analytics only run after you accept.
We measure how the site is used in two ways. The first, Umami, is cookieless and always on: it sets no cookies, does not collect data that identifies you, and does not track you across other websites, so it needs no consent.
The second is optional. Google Analytics (provided by Google) and Microsoft Clarity (provided by Microsoft) load only after you accept and never otherwise. Microsoft Clarity records anonymised session replays and heatmaps and masks text and form inputs by default. You can withdraw your consent at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Because Google and Microsoft may process this data outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law (see our Privacy Policy).
The About page and driving-test-centre pages offer interactive Google Maps. We show a locally rendered placeholder first, so opening one of those pages does not contact Google. If you select "Load Google Map", the map loads from Google and Google receives technical data such as your IP address, browser and device information, the referring page, and the map location requested. Google may also use cookies or similar storage, depending on your browser and Google Account settings. Your choice applies only to the map you select and is not stored by this website.
You can use the rest of the page without loading the map. A separate link can open the location directly on Google Maps, where Google's own Privacy Policy and cookie controls apply.
This site is delivered through Cloudflare, which protects it and keeps it fast. To do this, Cloudflare may set a small number of strictly-necessary cookies (for example one named "__cf_bm") to tell real visitors apart from automated abuse. These are essential security cookies, contain no advertising or tracking data, and under UK law do not require consent. You can still block them in your browser, though some security features may not work as well.
Our booking form also uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell real visitors apart from bots. It may set a strictly-necessary token for this purpose; it contains no advertising or tracking data and, under UK law, does not require consent.
Our booking form does not send data through a third-party form service and sets no cookies. When you submit it, your device's own email app opens a pre-filled message to us that you choose to send - so your details go straight to us by email. How we handle that data is covered in our Privacy Policy.
Links to Google Maps, WhatsApp, Instagram, or Threads take you to those services, which set their own cookies and have their own privacy policies once you leave our site.
You control the optional analytics through our cookie banner: accept or decline when it appears, and change your mind at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer. If you decline, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are never loaded. Accepting loads both services. The cookieless Umami analytics and the strictly-necessary Cloudflare security cookies run either way. You can also view, control, and delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.
We may update this Cookie Policy if the technology behind the site changes. The current version is always published here with the date it was last updated.
