Trams only
A blue sign showing a tram means the route ahead is for trams only - other vehicles must not enter.

What it means
It reserves a road or track section for trams. Trams run on fixed rails and can't steer around you, so their route is kept clear. Where roads cross or share a tram route there are extra signs and signals, and you must give way to trams and never block the rails.
Most UK drivers only meet trams in a few cities, so the signs are worth knowing before you drive there.
