No U-turn
A red circle with a U-turn arrow crossed out means no U-turns - you must not turn round to go back the way you came.

What it means
The sign bans U-turns at that point, usually because turning across the traffic would be dangerous or block the road. Find another way round instead - a side road or a roundabout.

Where you'll see it
Dual carriageways, busy single carriageways, and gaps in central reservations where a U-turn would be hazardous.

On your driving test
You won't be asked to do a banned U-turn on test. The skill examiners want is planning: if you miss a turn, carry on and find a safe, legal way back rather than turning where you shouldn't.
