What it means
Understanding and reacting correctly to traffic signs in good time - speed limits, no entry, keep left, priority and warning signs.
What a fault looks like
A late reaction to a sign is a driving fault; missing a no-entry, a keep-left or a change of speed limit can be serious or dangerous.
What learners get wrong
Seeing signs too late and then reacting harshly, or missing a repeater speed-limit sign and carrying the wrong speed.
What we recommend
Keep your eyes moving and read signs early so your response is smooth. If you are unsure of the limit, the road type and street lights are strong clues.
