What it means
Going when it is genuinely safe and clear, without waiting unnecessarily at junctions, roundabouts or crossings.
What a fault looks like
Waiting at a clear junction long enough to hold up traffic is a driving fault; stopping dead where you had priority can be serious if it surprises others.
What learners get wrong
Letting safe gaps go by at a roundabout or junction, waiting for a perfect gap that never comes.
What we recommend
When it is clear, go decisively. Look, judge the gap, and take it - repeatedly refusing safe gaps is itself a fault.
