What it means
Making reasonable progress - driving up to a safe and legal speed for the road when it is clear, not dawdling well below it.
What a fault looks like
Driving so slowly that you hold others up without reason is a driving fault; being so slow it becomes hazardous can be serious.
What learners get wrong
Staying well under the limit out of nerves on a clear, open road, causing a queue behind.
What we recommend
When the road is clear and the limit allows, drive up to a sensible speed. Progress is part of the test - safe does not mean slow.
