What it means
Steering smoothly and accurately, keeping the car in its lane and off the kerb, with a controlled technique.
What a fault looks like
Touching the kerb, or steering that wanders, is usually a driving fault; mounting the kerb hard, or steering that puts the car where it should not be, can be serious or dangerous.
What learners get wrong
Steering too late for a bend or turn and then over-correcting, or dropping a hand and losing accuracy.
What we recommend
Look well ahead to where you want to go, not at the kerb - the car follows your eyes. Steer early and smoothly so you never have to snatch at it.
