Awareness on the road · Driving test fault
Position at normal stops
What it means
Choosing safe, legal and convenient places to stop and pull up - close to and parallel with the kerb, not blocking others or driveways.
What a fault looks like
Stopping too far from the kerb or in an awkward spot is a driving fault; stopping somewhere unsafe, like near a junction or on a crossing, is serious.
What learners get wrong
Pulling up too far out, at an angle, or in a spot that blocks a driveway or a junction.
What we recommend
Pick a clear, legal stretch, pull up smoothly close and parallel to the kerb, and avoid stopping near junctions, crossings or entrances.
